Man is religious by nature.
We are all born with a conscience, an inner "voice" which tells us what is right or wrong (nothing in between). This voice is a proof that before birth we are all exposed to Truth: we distinguish between true or false by comparing to that standard. Unfortunately, sin deforms conscience and obscures our capacity to recognize Truth.
If man betrays Truth, he has to fill the vacuum with some ideology. Otherwise he can't fulfill his need to transcend death. That's why some are taking environmentalism as a religious substitute and why so many atheists choose to become scientists: scientism (or any other ism and sin) becomes their personal man made "god".
For relativism all religions are equal just as fairy tales or myths. That's why for some legal systems like in the USA, religion means whatever you believe in:
"a sincere and meaningful belief that occupies in the life of its possessor a place parallel to the place held by God in the lives of other persons. The religion or religious concept need not include belief in the existence of God or a supreme being to be within the scope of the First Amendment."

According to that wrong definition, current non-scientific environmentalism, could be considered a cult/church/religion and they shouldn't mess with the educational system with their wrong beliefs.
No matter what the US Supreme Court says, there is only one Truth, ergo only one true religion, with the real power to re-attach people with God (the literal meaning of the word re-ligare). Since ideologies depart from an idea and not reality, they crash against the Rock of Truth, Jesus.
Scientific Proof of Religion:
It's no surprise that non-belivers are pesimistic about the future:
they are clueless about Divine Providence and the role of Angels in nature!
If we shut our eyes,
we are the blindest of blinds.
If non-Catholics acknowledge those scientific facts, it doesn't mean they have wasted their lives in wrong beliefs, as long as they had been faithful to truth, good, love and conscience. Nevertheless, after watching the unquestionable evidence, they will be judged for not accepting it. Some are so proud and stubborn, that they are willing to waste the rest of their lives, just to postpone recognizing a mistake. On judgement day, they will have no choice but to admit how wrong they were. Too late to repent!It's no surprise that non-belivers are pesimistic about the future:

The further away mankind goes from God's plan, the darker it will get.
The 21st century is the darkest of ages.

Cheer up! After the fire from the sky (ca. 2040), the Son will shine again for the thousand years kingdom of Christ!
